Summary

VIPA GmbH, now a manufacturer of modular automation systems, was founded in Erlangen, Bavaria, Germany, as a provider of PLC solutions by Mr. Wolfgang Seel in 1985. Introduction of the first EDP-based machine control panel was quickly followed by the development of other automatic control components and communication modules. The client base features companies from the automotive and food industry as well as conveyor technique, machine and plant engineering, construction and many other industrial sectors. VIPA has been selling on the European market since 1985. In 2000 VIPA moved to the industrial park in northern Herzogenaurach, located to the west of Erlangen, where a modern building had been constructed with more than 2.000 sq.m floor space.

Today the company stands its ground very successfully against fierce competition. The name VIPA has become a symbol for innovation, flexibility and customer orientation. Last year an increase in turnover of more than 40 % was achieved. This success is based on high demand products, cooperative service, excellent quality and working closely and effectively with our clients to meet their needs for complex automation solutions. Today many well-known German enterprises in a variety of business sectors are among our clients.

With their interest, commitment, motivation and loyalty our employees contribute significantly to that success. Intensive networking between all departments ensures marketable and userorientated products. Our knowledge of the automation industry enables us to work out individual solutions for our customers. The competence and experience of our employees and executives give our clients the certainty that they have chosen the right partner. About 100 highly-qualified people are employed by VIPA Germany today.

With the development of the SPEED7 High-Speed-PLC, another technical milestone was set in the field of automation technology. With these PLCs we are in a position to solve existing and future applications to the utmost customer satisfaction. This concept of control engineering is unique in the market of automation systems. With constant development this technological edge shall be maintained and widened in future. In 2005 we are expecting to acquire new customers and enlarge existing business relations with SPEED7 technology. VIPA will also expand its current product range with the Touch Panel Family in 2004.
