The ultra-compact G10 from Pepperl+Fuchs is the world’s smallest AS-Interface I/O module with IP68/69K protection. With a footprint of just above 1 inch2 per I/O, this exceptionally compact module defines the new state-of-the-art and allows mounting in the most space-confined applications. In fact, simply placing the G10 inside the cable tray may eliminate mounting entirely. Only the integrated pigtail cordsets for sensors and actuators are located outside of the cable tray; the AS-Interface flat cable remains in the cable tray at all times, eliminating additional mounting steps altogether. Due to the pigtail solution the G10 modules do not require additional cordsets, and any conventional sensor is quickly converted into a convenient, efficient AS-Interface solution.
Specification:V3.0Special Features:The single piece housing makes use of a patented hinged cover, a design with a proven track record also used on the Pepperl+Fuchs’ line of passive splitters. When mounting is required, it’s fast and easy; only one screw is needed to reliably mount the G10. There are no gaskets, inserts, separate housing parts, or additional screws that are easily lost.
As on all other AS-Interface modules, Pepperl+Fuchs uses high-quality, machined, gold-plated piercing contacts that, unlike the cheap stamped and zinc-coated alternative, provide superior long-term contact stability without damaging the internal strands of the AS-Interface cable. Placed around each of the piercing contacts is a concentric seal contour providing high seal contact pressure, a main contributor to the reliable IP68/69K protection, even after many years of service.
Power to the sensors is supplied from AS-Interface or AUX power, and a continuous output current of up to 1 A can be supplied. There are three versions of the G10 and each is equipped with diagnostic and status LEDs, follows the latest AS-Interface specification 3.0, and already supports AS-Interface Power24
