Description:

The “F” version of the ASI4U is functionally and pin-compatible with ZMDI’s ASI4U family in SSOP28 package and it conforms to the AS-Interface Specification v3.0. It is perfect for extremely cold and harsh environments for process and factory automation applications and can easily be used at ambient temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C, which minimizes extensive and costly module tests. The ASI4U-F is also supported by the ZMDI AS-Interface development tools. The ASI4U-F (“ASI for You”) is AS-International certified; it is a highly integrated CMOS IC. Implemented in the IC are features from the AS-Interface specification 3.0, such as a 4I/4O mode and a synchronous data IO mode. Extensive configuration and filtering can be carried out, which is saved on the integrated circuit’s internal EEPROM. Further highlights include the isolated transmitter, which allows high module symmetries in electrically intensive applications through component economisation, an integrated electronic inductor with a maximum power of 55mA, as well as an integrated safety mode for use with safety related applications.

The safety monitors from Siemens are a central component of safety-related applications based on ASIsafe, and they are an established force in the market. Consistent further development of this technology has now reached yet another milestone with the new ASIsafe basic central unit of the SIRIUS 3RK3 Modular Safety System (MSS). The MSS SIRIUS 3RK3 is a modular safety system. Like the safety monitors, it detects safety sensors on the AS-i bus, and disconnects actuators safely via parameterizable safety logic. However, it is the quantity structure of the MSS that adds value to today's safety monitors. The MSS ASIsafe basic now comes into play in small, medium and large applications where previously two or more safety monitors had to be used.

The MSS ASIsafe basic from Siemens corresponds to many safety monitors in a single device. It can be expanded up to 10 independent two-channel enabling circuits via the internal safe device bus using additional inputs and outputs. This makes it the world's first modularly expandable safety monitor!

The new SK 200E frequency inverter series is designed to be mounted directly on the motor terminal box to create a combined, and fully integrated unit for use in the field. Similar to the SK 500E inverter series for control cabinet installation, which was launched two years ago, the new models provide a continuous range of performance and various a wide selection of optional features, which that greatly simplify the selection of models to suit the particular application. SK 225E/SK 235E The new SK 225E and SK 235E models are available with outputs from 0.25 to 7.5 kW. The inverters are designed for direct mounting on the motor terminal box, in order to create combined, and fully integrated drive units for use in the field. For AS-i wiring, only the yellow bus cable needs to be connected. These robust, reliable and economic systems are suitable for extensive large plant installations, e.g. conveyors, and were are specially optimised for price-sensitive market segments. The decentralised inverters offer sensorless current vector control and include four digital inputs and a switching unit for an electromagnetic brake. Thanks to the plug-in EEPROM module, they can simply and rapidly exchange parameter settings with units of the same type. With their practical range of accessories equipment, which also includes incremental encoder evaluation and integrated POSICON positioning control, the drives can cater for a wide range of applications. LEDs display the status information directly on the device. The SK 235E can also be equipped with the safety function “Safe Stop” in compliance with EN 954-1 or EN 13849-1 (up to the maximum safety category 4, Stop category 0 and 1) to protect the connected motor against restarting without switching off the power.
