AS-Interface is the Standard for the Sensor/Actuator level in Japan. This shows up in the approval lists of Japanese Car Manufacturers, many machine and plant equipment manufacturers and since two years now in the country specific AS-Interface standard. The Japanese automation market is general different to the European automation market, because on the Fieldbus level CC-Link is the market leader. This shows more than other things that the openness to all Fieldbus systems and Ethernet solutions is making AS-Interface the solution for the Sensor Actuator level.
