The safety monitors from Siemens are a central component of safety-related applications based on ASIsafe, and they are an established force in the market. Consistent further development of this technology has now reached yet another milestone with the new Advanced central unit of the SIRIUS 3RK3 Modular Safety System (MSS). The MSS SIRIUS 3RK3 is a modular safety system. Like the safety monitors, it detects safety sensors on the AS-i bus, and disconnects actuators safely via parameterizable safety logic. However, it is the quantity structure of the MSS that adds value to today's safety monitors. The MSS Advanced now comes into play in small, medium and large applications where previously two or more safety monitors had to be used.
The MSS Advanced from Siemens corresponds to many safety monitors in a single device. It can be expanded up to 50 independent two-channel enabling circuits via the internal safe device bus using additional inputs and outputs. This makes it the world's first modularly expandable safety monitor!
